Anna Maida, RCC

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Life can present us with challenges that leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, and I'm passionate about providing a safe, compassionate space where you can begin to make sense of those feelings. I specialize in trauma and understand how past experiences can shape your present. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, or navigating a significant life transition, I’m here to walk with you as we explore the impact of these experiences on your life.
My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed, and I truly believe that healing happens when we honor the unique story you bring into the room. I offer a range of evidence-based techniques, including elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectal Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems, strengths-based, and somatic work, to build resilience, and create positive change.
As a registered clinical counsellor, I offer virtual or phone sessions to support your healing journey. Reaching out for help can feel daunting, but together, we'll work toward understanding and transforming what's holding you back. Let's take the first step—reach out for a free consultation.
About Me.
From a young age, I recognized the profound value of counselling as a tool for self-discovery, healing, and growth. During my adolescence, I personally experienced the positive impact that professional support can have, which ignited a deep passion for the helping profession. This passion has guided my academic journey and career, allowing me to work with individuals in a meaningful and empathetic way.
Throughout my time at university, I pursued my interest in understanding the human mind and behavior by studying developmental psychology and neuroscience. These disciplines provided me with a strong foundation for understanding the complexities of the brain, emotional development, and the ways in which our neurological makeup shapes how we navigate the world. My education has equipped me with the knowledge to approach each individual with a unique perspective, recognizing the factors that contribute to their mental and emotional experiences.
I have had the privilege of working with neurodivergent youth, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in supporting individuals with a variety of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs. I believe that every person has the potential to thrive with the right support, and I approach my work with a holistic, person-centered approach, deeply valuing the importance of understanding the individual’s unique strengths, challenges, and needs.
I am committed to helping my clients feel seen, heard, and supported in a space that fosters growth, resilience, and empowerment. Whether you’re navigating life changes, challenges related to neurodivergence, or looking to explore your inner world, I am here to walk with you on your journey toward healing and self-actualization.
